Insurers Issue Dire Warnings About Medicare Advantage Pay Rule
Health care reports on industry opposition to CMS’s proposed 0.09% Medicare Advantage rate increase for 2027 and tightened risk adjustment policies. The Alliance of Community Health Plans joined other industry groups arguing that CMS should allow Medicare Advantage carriers to use chart reviews for new members, noting this is “especially relevant given the number of insurers pulling out of geographic markets.” ACHP warned that “Absent an exception of unlinked chart reviews for this narrow population, this policy would reward plans exiting markets at the expense of plans remaining in their communities.”
